Good Deals at Publix

Ok, so I know no one really cares about my good deals at Publix, but darn, I'm so pleased with some of them I just had to brag report for the sake of others who might want to run by/buy.

Publix had Huggies bath products BOGOF at $3.29, essentially $1.65 each. I had SEVEN (yes, thanks to all my friends who don't have babies, I get ALL the baby coupons -- yay!!) $1.00 coupons for bath products, essentially paying $4.55 ($.65 a bottle) for seven bottles of baby wash . I ALSO had a Publix Baby Club coupon for BOGOF on Huggies washcloths (the kind that already has the stuff in them -- great for travel), and I am CERTAINLY not a math genius so someone tell me: if they were already BOGOF ($3.29 for two) AND I had a BOGOF coupon, how much did I pay???? Well, according to my receipt, which I just looked at, I paid $3.29, got $1.64 off AND had another $1.00 off coupon (stacked those bad boys) and paid $.64 for two boxes. Not too bad!! Finally, in the baby department, I had a coupon for a BOGOF Publix wipes refill, so I picked up two of those for $2.49.

For those of you who have kiddos under two and have a Publix near you, SIGN UP for the Baby Club. They send you a sheet of coupons every so often and they are a real savings. For example, this most recent package, I got:
  • $1.00 off meat
  • $1.00 off a deli product
  • $1.00 off produce
  • BOGOF wipes refill
  • BOGOF antibacterial wipes (like Lysol)
  • $1.00 off a dairy product
  • $1.00 off Stoneyfield Organic Yogurt
  • BOGOF Huggies washclothes
  • $1.00 off any Shout product

Seems like there might have been more, but these are the ones I used this time. You can stack them with a manufacturers coupon and save even more. Great deals.

And finally, another great deal: Spray and Wash was BOGOF at $2.69. I had $.50 coupons (several) and Publix doubles coupons up to $.50. So, I got each bottle of Spray and Wash for $.35 each. WOW!! I have a few more of those coupons so I might stop back by this week for more. We will certainly use those.

All the Kashi products are also 50% off this week, so with my (3) $1.50 off Kashi waffles coupons, I got 3 boxes of waffles FREE (my favorite price).

Smart Balance butter spreads were BOGOF, so with my two $.50 coupons, I got two tubs for $.69 (or $.35 each).

All in all, I save almost exactly the same amount I spent -- or 50%. Now, I would not have bought many of the things I had (or at least not the quantity) had I not had the coupons to get them so inexpensively, but I assure you, it has been a blessing to our family to have these products stocked up so that we don't have to buy them all at "regular" price when we need them.

THANK YOU to everyone who has been contributing coupons that you don't use to us. We certainly appreciate it. Hopefully, you'll be happy to know, we share the "plunder" around and have actually "taught" others how to do this and to save money as well so your sharing with us has helped others too!!

OH... and I made a CVS run last night and found a few clearance deals that were incredible.
  • Chapstick on clearance for $.75
  • Halls Naturals cough drops on clearance for $.57
  • CVS Wild Cherry cough drops on clearance for $.32
  • Children's Alavart (loratadine, which is the only thing Josh can take for allergies), on clearance for $3.00 a box with a $2.00 peel off coupon, making it $1.00 for a box
  • Hylands (homeopathic) Sniffles and Cold pills on clearance for $1.32
  • CVS pantiliners -- free with ECBs
  • Dawn (small ones) 2/$1.00 (after ECB) but 2 - $.25 coupons makes them $.25 each -- of course, they were OUT at the store I went to. I think Jeff Land beat me to them.

All in all, not a bad week.

I *love* the deals and am jealous we don't have Publix, Harris Teeter or Walgreens around us! So, I live vicariously...I did see the CVS deals, though and planned that trip!

I also LOVE (not really, I know it's a pain for you!) reading about Ellie's hissies...it's funny, and she'll laugh one day...until she has a little girl (or boy!) just like her! John's mom has been threatening a child just like him, which is TOTALLY not fair because I was a GREAT kid and he...well, he'd probably have given Ellie a run for her money! Oy.
